Program services will be delivered in two phases. In phase one, students will engage in six weeks of training. Training comprises evidenced-based programming that is geared toward violence and gang prevention; employability skills, and mentoring. Once this phase is completed, students will begin phase two, the employment phase. Students will be employed for sixteen hours per week for six weeks during the summer. The employability curriculum is taken from Tackling Tough Skills which is an evidence-based employment training curriculum. Included in the curriculum are the following workshops: Effective Communication Skills (includes decision making and conflict resolution), understanding and appreciating differences, creating a resume, applying for a job, successful interviewing, professional etiquette, establishing a strong work ethic and financial literacy.
